Why I'm Running
I love the amazing place we live, and I love my neighbors – ALL of them. I know I am not unique in this because I see the kindness and generosity of East Tennesseans in a million ways every day. We take care of each other. Right now things seem topsy-turvy. COVID-19 has us unable to conduct our lives as normal and so many things require an adjustment. Nothing can be taken for granted any longer. Protests about painful issues confront us. It would be easy to become fearful and stick our heads in the sand. We are kinder, smarter, and braver than that. Now is the time for us to put fear aside and say, “I will not cave to problems, I will listen to people. I will look for and embrace solutions!” As your legislator, I will do just that. I will listen to and sift through solutions staying focused on the prize: Preserving the quality and character of this amazing place and meeting the needs of the people who live here. Government representation must not be fearful. Government representation must not instill fear. Government representation must be about the desire to serve our neighbors-ALL of them. That is why I am running. It is just that simple.
